Exciting Updates for Sunday, Nov. 9

Important for This Weekend: Parking Lot Updates
The parking lot work from the last several weeks is nearing completion and will be finished in time for the Thanksgiving Food Distribution on November 22! That said, one major piece of this project remains, and it will directly impact traffic into and out of our parking on this Sunday.

The east-center driveway into our parking lot will be completely closed this Sunday, Nov. 9. See the map below. On Sunday, the east-center driveway will be completely blocked off, and traffic will be unable to enter or exit the parking lot from the drive that is immediately east of the cross tower. All other driveways will be open.

Additionally, you will note on this map that the construction fence to the east of the cross tower still extends slightly into the east parking lot. This is necessary to finish the curb work on the east side of the cross tower, but it reduces the parking that has previously been available. During this time, you may consider parking in the lots north of the church and entering through the north Atrium doors or the east “E3” doors. Please note that the circular drop-off drive at the front of the Atrium remains closed to automobile traffic, though you may still walk to those doors. Golf carts are also available to help transport you closer to the building.

It is exciting to see the nearly completed parking lot along the west side of the Grand Foyer! This includes a new lot design on the west side of the Sanctuary, which will feature a covered drop-off area, expanded handicapped stalls, and safer, more accessible walkways to the building. Thank you for your continued flexibility and generous spirit in navigating these inconveniences. This facet of construction is nearly over!

New This Week: Front Entrance & Grand Foyer
Though construction continues on the front and west sides of the exterior Grand Foyer, you’ll notice an exciting change inside this Sunday. The temporary wall in the Grand Foyer has been dismantled! For the next few weeks, plastic draping will take its place as drywall work and painting is completed on the construction side. It’s so good to see sunlight streaming into the Grand Foyer again!

Due to the construction in the Grand Foyer mezzanine, some access points into the Sanctuary balcony remain limited. In the Atrium mezzanine, the short staircase near the elevator is closed, as there is active construction happening on the other side of that doorway. Available balcony access points are from the staircases in the Grand Foyer and from inside the Sanctuary itself (though some upstairs balcony exit doors are also closed due to construction in the area).

This phase of the Grand Foyer work is expected to be completed in time for the holidays. Upon completion, construction will immediately shift to the east side of the Grand Foyer.

Thank you for your continued flexibility as we experience construction, messes, and inconveniences all throughout our campus! This work is certainly causing each of us frustration and extra effort, but we are excited about how God will use the work we’re doing now to impact people for generations to come.
